Bentley OpenUtilities CONNECT Edition Help

Work Location Properties Dialog

Lets you view the properties of a selected work location and make changes to those which are editable. You can also use this dialog to supply a description for the work location and adjust for extra materials and labor costs at this location due to special construction requirements. These adjustments, in most cases, are applied to all units that are assigned to the work location.

SettingDescription
Name The work location's unique identifier, based on its type (Point or Span) and its sequence within the path (i.e., P1, P2, P3, S1, S2, S3, etc.). The work location name is also displayed on the GIS map as the work location annotation. System-generated.
Status The state of the work request in the design and construction cycle. System-generated.
Labor Difficulty Factor A value that reflects the extra labor anticipated at this work location (due to difficult terrain, for example). Bentley OpenUtilities Designer multiplies the Labor Cost value of all units associated with this work location by the Labor Difficulty Factor value. The values displayed in the Labor Difficulty Factor box are derived from a customer-configured data table. Choose a value from the list or type a value in the box.
Linear Allowance A multiplier that reflects the extra linear material anticipated at this location. This property applies only to spans and therefore impacts only materials such as pipe and conductor.
Quantity/Length The length of the span and the value used to estimate the quantity of material needed. Enter a different value (such as an actual field measurement) to override the calculated value, which is based on the distance between the span's xy coordinates (for GIS designs), or to change a value that you specified previously. The Quantity/Length value is automatically applied to any span-type feature that is assigned to this work location if the feature has been configured with a length attribute. The Quantity / Length value will override any default length attribute that has been specified in the active Job Default. Any compatible unit assigned to the feature also inherits the Quantity / Length value of the work location.
Cost The total cost of all compatible units, materials, and custom costs assigned to this work location. System-generated.
Description A user name for the work location. This description replaces the default name ("Point" or "Span") displayed in the Design Workspace.
Comment A user comment for the work location.
Display Comments in GIS Indicates whether the work location's comment in the Design Assistant gets added to the work location's comment in the GIS.
